My personal journey with Money has been of many layers unfolding as many of you know my story. Especially those of you that our in our group – Being Present to Serve. Money in my family was always a means of showing love- yet sometimes – it was a form of control. SO for most of the time it was difficult accepting it within the family without it feeling icky.
I even taught to not sharing with your parents in case they would not fully support you. You want to be surrounded by those who support what your divine purpose is. For my parents- I am their daughter yes, but with a “successful pharmacist with a doctorate degree”. Yes for many years that IS what I did. But if you were to really ask me what it is that I am – I would rather say a healer, a reiki master, a money alchemist, a coach, one that inspires others to follow their divine purpose and give back to the world. But I never thought my father would ever see that in me. In fact, I pretty much had given up on it. I didn’t feel bad either. I just let go. I found a spiritual family that “saw” me – and that felt really good.
But this past weekend I was at a family reunion. My parents were getting close to 80. It was an important gathering. It wasn’t easy either to get all of us together now as adults and with wives and children… But we did.
One night at dinner my Dad asked me about Reiki Fur Babies– asked me when I was on TV. I laughed because I didn’t even realize he remembered I was on TV – back in Colorado , years ago. I didn’t really elaborate.
The next morning I was reading the posts from Being Present to Serve and I was so touched and moved by what people were sharing about who they ARE and what service they were bringing to the world- I had the amazing clarity- to share with my Dad what it was that I was doing. It was so profoundly clear. I looked from the bedroom I was in and could see my Dad sitting alone in the living room. I took my laptop because something in me said to show him too besides just telling him. I asked him if he had a few minutes to listen to what I was doing.
As I shared with him about how I met Amina Makhdoom, he was like WOW. I shared with him the vision we both had and how the group Being Present to Serve- how we make Money was born. How we wrote a book. My Dad was clearly impressed. He said you have how many people in your group?! I showed him our Facebook page. He said, all these people- they all want to serve the planet and give back?! I said yes. He then said he wanted to read our book. Seriously, by this time I was already in shock and almost in tears because he saw me. He really got it. Not only did he get it , he wanted to support it.
There was such a profound healing that took place between my Dad and I. He asked me may I show you what I’m working on to give back? He then starting showing me his business partners.
Full circle of healing. A miracle that I never expected. But it sure feels good to be seen completely.

I know how much this means to you, Ming, to get that kind of connection with your Dad. My Dad died many years ago and did not really *know* me except for my connection with horses. It brings tears to my eyes to know someone like you who was brave enough to be your real self and be seen by your Dad. And then he really got it! I’m so very happy for you both.

There is profound healing that takes place when you risk vulnerability and let yourself be seen as you are, who you are, especially by those you love. I’m glad this took place for you, Ming. It’s huge.
